I went to Mt. St. Helens to take some shots with my new E-1.
The weather was quite nice - all clear blue sky.
All ISO 100, without tripod, with UV filter. (I haven't got CPL yet.)
Mt. St.Helens is located in the south part of Washington state. It is an active volcano: even now there is steam comming out from the top. It is famous for its huge erupttion in 1980, when the top portion of the mountain exploded.

The national parks in the United States are quite well maintained. There are a lot of visitor center and rest places. In Mt. St. Helens, there are three major visitor centers, where you can observe spectacle view of the mountain.
The photo below was shot from "The Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument Visitor Center at Silver Lake". It locates near I-5, 1 hour from Portland.
This is from "The Coldwater Ridge Visitor Center", one hour drive from the visitor center above. Can you see the steam coming out of the top?

This is observatory deck.
We can still see lots of trees devastated at that time.
