Here is the list of features I'm working / planning to do (only major ones listed here):
-
"Knitting Pattern" editor
This is what I'm working on right now.
It is going to be possible to edit knitting pattern. We will provide JIS knitting symbols.

Increasing a maximum chart site / Resizing / Cropping
Current 64x64 is because of performance issue on old iPhone devices.
I decided to increase that (as 64x64 is too small sometimes... ), so warning to old device users for slowness when you create a larger chart.
iPhone 4S, iPad 2 or later should be OK.
Also, this requires auto dividing chart when generating PDF - it is a little tricky actually...
-
Color palette for DMC, COSMO, Perler beads etc.
I can reuse KG-Chart's palette here. Also, as I want to play Perler beads (with my 4 year old son), I'll definitely add that.
There was a design decision to do this way. I'll explain this in a separate post.
-
Converting an image into chart with color palette number
(or, more like a auto assigning color code)
-
Editing ASCII Art mode
-
Pencil size / Line patterns
-
Text Tool
It would be easier to use text to create a chart (like an old Cross Stitch Sampler). I guess this would be the second easiest method of creating a chart. (No.1 is converting from picture, I guess)
-
Scripting (Generate pattern based on algorithm)
I love programming, as you know, and I think creating a simple code to generate a pattern might be an interesting play.
-
Loading pattern to paste
This is needed to save parts and combine them later to create a new chart.
-
Generating a real view image to export
Another features I really want to try to implement are like these:
(These requires more into Objective-C... I'm learning)
-
iCloud (and/or DropBox)
I totally know this is essential - it is really inconvenient to use iTunes to transfer files, so...
-
Gallery improvements
File list sort order (Order by date modified)
-
Social API (Facebook / Twitter posting)
Well, at least iOS5 (and iOS6) is provide a framework for these - so I need to learn how to use them...
-
Conversion to/from KG-Chart file
I'm really sorry I haven't done this yet. KG-Chart file is kind of old designed (originally I did in 2000) and a little complex, it is not that easy to convert. (Also, KG-Chart is on Microsoft world and StitchSketch is on Apple world...which makes things complicated)
Anyway, I'll accomplish this in the near future.
and more...!
(Wow, how many of these... I just started to list up and become this big easily)
Also, based on StitchSketch on iOS, I'm creating a OS/X version, as both are essentially same platform.
There are so many idea and I have so little time to do this... (remember, I'm working on this in my spare time) hopefully I can find a time and continue working on this project.
