Select one of the tool you want to use from the "Cross stitch tool bar"

Most of the time, the basic operation is:
Left click: draw with a selected color
Right click: eraser

Pencil
Draw one stitch

Left click: drawing
Right click: erasing

If you select the pencil tool, you can also select half stitches. Refer to the next page.

Brush
Draw with various size/shape brushes.
You can select a type of brush from the toolbar below the main tool bar.

Right click: erasing

flood fill
Flood fill the area with the same color of the clicked cell with a specified color.

Right click: erasing

Spoit
Select the same color of the clicked cell in the selected color palette.

Left click: Select a color, and goes back to the previous tool
Right click: Select a color, and keep continue doing so

Eraser
Erase the cell. You can choose a size of the erase.
